We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project and Portfolio Manager to join Acacia’s IT and Security team. As the Project and Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading a Project Management Office (PMO) that focuses on demand and resource management, successfully delivers IT projects, and ensures alignment with business objectives. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of project management principles and best practices.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Establish and Lead the Project and Portfolio Management Office (PPMO)
- Develop and implement the PMO framework, processes, and methodologies.
- Define and enforce project management standards and governance across the organization.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team members within the PPMO.
Demand Management:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand and prioritize business demands.
- Facilitate the intake and assessment of project requests, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Evaluate project feasibility, resource requirements, and impact on existing initiatives.
- Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to meet the demands of various departments.
Project and Portfolio Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation to closure.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and manage risks and issues.
- Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
Resource Management:
- Manage a team of business analysts and other project managers, providing guidance and support.
- Allocate resources efficiently and ensure the availability of skilled resources for project execution.
- Coordinate with department managers to ensure proper resource utilization and capacity planning.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor.
- Communicate effectively and provide timely updates on project statuses, risks, and key decisions.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, etc.).
- Proven experience as a Project and Portfolio Manager or similar role within an IT environment.
- Experience building out the PMO for an IT organization.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (including agile), project management tools, and best practices.
- Solid understanding of demand management processes and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience managing a team and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PfMP (Portfolio Management Professional) are preferred.
- Passion for driving successful project outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits:
Acacia has established an internal compensation philosophy that centers equity and pay transparency. The salary for this position is set at $118,200 The salary listed is just one component of Acacia’s total compensation package for employees. Supporting Acacia staff—both personally and professionally—is our priority.
