The HR Business Analyst (HR BA) position is responsible for supporting the business through process and data analysis
activities including documenting business rationale and success metrics for initiatives, business requirements, business
processes, standard operating procedures, and leading UAT activities. HR BAs assist in the development,
implementation, and delivery of one or more HR initiatives. HR BAs may also assume responsibilities outside of this job
description based on initiative and/or organizational needs and would require prior agreement by HR leadership.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
Serve as the business analyst lead for HR initiatives and represent the PMO’s interest by:
Developing metrics: Support the development of business proposals for initiatives by developing success
metrics and criteria which is then measured post delivery
Gathering Business Requirements: Work with all stakeholders to gather, analyze and document business
requirements and gain approvals
Improving Business Processes: Analyze and document existing (AS-IS) and future state (TO-BE) business
processes, driving opportunities for enhancements
Documenting Process: Developing procedures, guidelines, and documentation that can be scaled for use by the
organization
Leading UAT: Create test strategy and plans for system changes, develop and manage all UAT components
including test case setup, test data prep, partnering with ETX team for testing execution and providing User
Acceptance Testing (UAT) reporting to the HR Owner/Business and project team.

Key Activities throughout the HR Delivery Framework
Intake
- Partner with the HR Owner and Intake Manager to help define business proposal and success metrics for
measurement
Initiation
- Once assigned to an approved initiative, HR BAs will familiarize with the SMEs (HR Owner).
- HR BAs will have a high-level understanding of the project deliverable.
- HR BAs will begin outline using the BRD template.
- HR BAs will provide the HR PM with a schedule for requirements gathering activities
- HR BAs will support the HR PM in identification of impacted stakeholders
Planning
- Collaboration with cross functional teams to gather and finalize requirements.
- Development of the success metrics and measurement requirements.
- Review and get BRD approvals from the HR Owner.
- Begin UAT discussions/support needed.
- Provide UAT schedule
- Document user acceptance test plan, test scenarios and test cases.
- Get test scripts approved.
Implementation
- Support and lead end to end UAT process; documenting, testcases execution updates and defect monitoring.
- Once build begins, follow the agreed upon process for requirement change, if needed.
Closure
- Provide finalized BRD, Test plan and UAT results and other associated documentation.
- Produce early indication of results derived from success metrics.
- Conduct a post-mortem meeting to identify the challenges and successes of the project.
Standards & Guidelines
- HR BAs are responsible for adhering to the HR PMO Standards & Guidelines including identification,
assessment, and documentation of business requirements, obtaining, and documenting appropriate approvals
on BRD and associated documentation and appropriate meeting management.
- Planning and managing of timely initiative communications (intrateam), including HR Owner and SME to
effectively meet requirements and documentation needs is the responsibility of the HRBA.
- As opportunities arise, HRBAs are expected to share best practices, optimize processes, and promote a culture
of discipline and change.
Leadership
- Develops and maintains trusted, respected relationships with stakeholders and internal customers.
- Addresses difficult and sensitive process and business issues with HR Owner and SMEs in a manner that
results in both successful resolutions and strengthened relations
